I'm going to start off on this adventure of blogging all things related to Chelsea by reviewing our match with the Thailand XI today. This is the first time Chelsea FC would be lining up since Mourinho began his second stint at Chelsea and it happens that it is not the only special thing happening today. TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! Hurrrrraaaaay!!! What a day it promises to be, incidentally, I also started this blog today! Wow! Three hearty cheers to Chelsea and my humble self!!! I'm using this opportunity to wish us success in our friendly match with the Thai Eleven. What a tough match it promises to be, especially after seeing them overrun the EPL champions, Manchester United, on Sunday in manager David Moyes' first match at the helm of affairs at the Old Trafford club. Though it is an experimental match, a lot would be at stake, especially as it marks the footballing start of Mourinho's return. All in all, I'm rooting strongly for Chelsea to win this one.
Did I forget to also mention that Jose Mourinho would not be the "Only One" making his debut today? New signings Marco van Ginkel, Andre Schurrle and Kevin De Bruyne (former loanee) would be wearing the Blues shirt for the first time in their careers. Squad numbers have not been confirmed for van Ginkel and De Bruyne, but it is likely that Schurrle would be filing out with jersey number 14. So as you can see, a lot is at stake and the youngsters will be looking to impress the manager and the Chelsea fans at large and try as much as possible to stake a claim at starting berths in the club come next season. I wish the boys good luck!
