Last Pre-season Fixtures in Full

Written By Unknown on Wednesday, 31 July 2013 | 15:04

Chelsea have already been through 3 preseason games so far and they've come out tops in each of them: the 1-0 victory over the Singha All-stars, the 4-1 thrashing of the Malaysian XI and the 8-1 crushing of the BNI Indonesian All-stars. In those three matches, the Blues' rampant players slotted in 13 goals against their hapless opponents, conceding only 2 goals in the process. But the Blues have since left the shores of Southeast Asia where they played those matches and they are now on the other side of the map, far away in eastern United States of America for the concluding part of their preseason tour. Chelsea will hope to continue their good preseason form as they are billed to play four matches there before they wrap up their preseason tour and head back to their base in Fulham, London on August 10.

The Europa League Champions' next fixture comes up tomorrow (next tomorrow if you are not living in North or South America) by 8pm Eastern Time Zone (1pm UTC +1) against old foes Inter Milan. The match will take place in Indiannapolis, Indiana. It is a match Chelsea would be taking part in due to their participation in the Guinness International Champions Cup. The winner of that encounter at Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium will square up against AC Milan in New York City on the 4th of August, while the loser faces Valencia on the same day in the city that never sleeps. The four teams are among the European clubs invited to participate in the median edition of the Guinness International Champions Cup along with Everton, Juventus and Real Madrid. The only non-European club in the tournament is America's represenatative, L.A Galaxy.

AC Milan are already through to the next round courtesy of their 2-1 victory over Valencia on July 27 and will await the winner of the tie between Chelsea and Inter Milan in the Eastern Division's semifinal. In the Western division, Juventus will square up against Everton of England later on tonight (tomorrow if you are not in the Americas) by 8 o'clock in San Francisco, California. Tomorrow (or next tomorrow if you are not in that part of the world) it will be the turn of L.A Galaxy to entertain Real Madrid in Phoenix, Arizona by 7:30 in the night local time. The semifinal of the Western Division will take place in Los Angeles, California on Saturday between the winners of those matches. Losers' semifinals will also be played in both divisions on the same day with the winners' semifinal of that division.

The winner of the two semifinals will be pitted against each other at the Sun Life Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida on Wednesday, 7 August. The match will be by 9pm local time. Three other matches are also billed to take place on the same day, in the same stadium. The losers of the winners' semifinals will battle it out for third place honours just before the main event. Before that one though, the winners of the two losers' semifinals will play in a match tagged the "5th place match", while the first match of the day will be the "7th place match" between the teams that were beaten in the losers' semifinals. I hope that is clear enough. Okay, let me clear things up a little bit more.

If Chelsea wins their first match against Inter Milan they will get to play the winners' semifinal of the Eastern Division with AC Milan who have already qualified and if they win that one they'll be in the finals, but if they lose the winners' semifinal they'll be in the third place match. Should they lose against Inter Milan, they'll play the losers' semifinal of the division with Valencia. If they beat Valencia, they'll be in the 5th place match. However, if they lose the losers' semifinal of their division, they'll have to be in the match of shame: the 7th place match.

Chelsea's last match of their American tour will be against AC Milan on August 10.
